I have a 1995 f150 i live in fl it is hot and humid, my truck missis at an idle (300 straight six), only at a idle, as soon as the ac is on or the motor is above and idle it seems fine, I have done the basic tune up cap, rotor, plugs, wires, I just added gas drier and injection cleaner, I belive the hot wet weather is the culprit, am I on the right track, if so and the additives dont work what next. Please help young man searching for the perfect running straight six (137000 mi)
My truck idled rough, too(94 w/302). I found that the gas dry was the problem. It hasn't idled rough since I quit adding it. You may want to try different gas stations(brands). They use different additives and your truck will run better on some than others.

I just started the additives today so I dont know if they will work, but in the past 10 days or so I have been using different gas stations and I also tried uping the octane but that seemed to make it worse, thank you for your reply
Take your MAF off carefully and clean it off with electric motor/contact cleaner. Also make sure the elec. connector going to it is clean. Then check the connector on the IAT(air temp sensor on intake box). Both of those sensors contribute greatly to how the truck runs.
I've also found out another thing. When you first start the truck, even when its warmed up, you should always wait for the idle to come down before you drive off. It usually takes a minute or less. The computer is processing the current outside and running conditions for optimum idle and running. If you don't wait, you may notice a bit of a rough idle or a little bit of lack in low-end. (The things you learn when you get bored and read the owner's manual). After I learned that, I've always waited. Most of the time, when I'm at a stop light, I can barely tell the truck is running.
r.c. dan thanks for more suggestions, I will take a look at both of those sensors, and let you know how it went. also I let my truck warm up five minutes or so each time I drive it, thanks again
How about an air filter? Was not specifically mention in your tune up description and is often overlooked. If you live in a very humid area like myself the air filter can greatly affect performance. Next thought was possibly a PCV valve. (again often overlooked).
Has anyone 'adjusted' the idle screw?
FL is also salty is it not? Have you cleaned your grounds lately?
Try pulling your codes. Visit fordfuelinjection.com for instructions. Its real easy but will take a few tries to get the hang of it.
Cheers,
Popa Tim
