I was wondering if someone knows why Ford did not put grease fittings on some of the F-150 front suspension parts. I have a '98 F-150 that has been lifted 5 inches and all my front suspension parts squeak whenever I hit a bump or turn the wheel. There are no grease fittings for the tie rod and such so how do I make this noise go away? The suspesion lift and parts are fairly new.
i dont know why ford didnt put any grease fittings on these trucks. mine was squeaking and i went to grease the front end and i only found two. mine ended up being a ball joint and i bough another one and it came with a grease fitting. i guess if you want to have grease fittings then replace every one with aftermarket ball joints and tie rod ends. they just dont make trucks like they use to. Also i sprayed some wd-40 on all the moving parts on the front end and it quit squeaking for a while till it got wet and then i would spray on more wd-40 till i got sick of messing with it and change the part out
Mine ended up being the Coil Spring Rubber Liner at the top. The springs finally wore through the rubber insulator between the top of the coil and the bucket it sits in. They were 12.00 each at ford. also had to remove the sway bar brackets and add grease to the rubber to bar area. Nice and Quiet now.
Your lift is harsher on the frontend componets so depending how long its been lifted. Your stock bushings and joints will need to be replaced as they are being worn out due to excessive stress. Energy suspensions sells complete polyurethane bushing sets for your truck, they will stand up to the stress and abuse better than OEM.
