Annoying problem - any ideas?

I have a 1987 F150 with the 4.9 and a manual 3 w/overdrive. The truck runs great most of the time, but every once in awhile it acts up. Sometimes taking off from a stoplight it will start to buck. Others times it seems to have low power when accelerating or, when driving down the road it loses power. All these things happen only briefly and then it is normal again. All pumps are relatively new, fuel systems relays have been replaced, new throttle position sensor, relatively new fuel filter, new cap, rotor and plug wires. I personally think that there is a sensor that is sending misinformation to the computer and then the timing is incorrect. However, I don't know what sensor that might be. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Could be an o2 sensor, knock sensor or water temp sensor.
Pull codes if any.
Check for vacuum leaks.

I would guess it has something to do with the EGR system, but start out by pulling the codes and see if the computer is trying to tell you anything. You can find instructions for pulling the codes at http://fordfuelinjection.com
