Question turn signal problem

Hey guys I own a 1988 f 250 diesel pick-up.

Well I am having some issues with my turn signals. I am looking more for a good wiring digram that an answer for this one I think it will take some time to figure out.

My problem is as follows... My turn signals dont work. When I turn them on I can here the flasher unit working but my signals dont flash, and neither do the arrows in my dash. When my 4 ways are on only 3 of my lights flash the left rear does not, but if I turn on my left signal while the 4 ways are on then the left rear starts to flash. Oh yea when my 4 ways are on my dashboard arrows flash. So I know that all the light bulbs and grounds through out the system are ok.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Or has anyone seen anything like this before? THANKS for any informaton!

I don't have my wiring diagrams here at work but my guess would be in the turn signal module in the steering column. I've seen a lot of weird problems come from there. I can't really think of any other part where the four-ways and turn signals come together. Since the four-ways are supposed to override the turn signals I'd give it a 99% chance that's where the problem is.

They have a few diagrams here.

I agree, it does sound like the multi-function switch(that's what Ford calls the turnsignal switch). I am surprised you don't have any brake light issues. Have you checked them? If they don't work either, I would definitely change out the multi-function switch.
