Unhappy Oil Leak Question-Please Help

O.k., I have posted numerous times on this site about how much I love my 05 250 PSD, but have run into three problems now with 9,000 miles. I took my truck in today for an oil leak that was on showing on top of my hood (in the middle towards the back). My friend told me that he heard it was the intercooler hose leaking and that this is a very common problem and caused by poor engineering. Also, while coming back from Colorado to Phoenix, I ran into cold temperatures (20's and 30's) and my HVAC system would not come on. It was completely dead with no display (even the outside temp display). When I reached New Mexico, it came back on after a fuel stop. Lastly, my front bumper fell a full inch on the passenger side. The bracket came loose.

I know the bumper is minor and the HVAC is now working perfectly, but the oil leak is a major concern and was wondering if anyone can give me some feedback while the tech is working on it. They told me they believe it is the throttle body leaking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My friend told me that he heard it was the inter cooler hose leaking and that this is a very common problem and caused by poor engineering.

Shouldn't be an oil leak per say. Probably coming from the inter cooler hose but not necessarily because of poor engineering. Poor choice of hose clamps maybe or even poor manufacturing. Regardless, it should be oil residue seeping past the the weak seal between the clamp / hose combo is supposed to provide.

What makes it a big deal is if not attended to you will likely blow the hose off at some inappropriate time time plus, it will scare the pee Willie out of you when it does. Your dealer will fix it.

Also, while coming back from Colorado to Phoenix, I ran into cold temperatures (20's and 30's) and my HVAC system would not come on. It was completely dead with no display (even the outside temp display). When I reached New Mexico, it came back on after a fuel stop.

I have heard of this before and I think the cure was to stop, cycle the truck off and back on again. Generally not a recurring problem if the cycling fix works.

The bumper is likely a result of a hangover on the assembly line. But still not good.

Thanks for the input. Hopefully this will be the end of problems for awhile. If not, my Dodge friend will never let me hear the end of it!
