heater core.
problem: heater core started leaking water yesterday on my way home.
what i did: for now, i routed the hoses into each other. taking the heater core out of the picture all together. this is a temporary fix.
question: is this going to hurt anything to run it like this for a month or 2?
I live in an apartment here so i dont really have a good place to work. yet.
There is a bolt just under the dash on the passenger side that bolts the dash to the cab wall. I found that removing just that one bolt gave enough play to the dash to make getting the heater body assembly much much easier.
i was thinking on the old f-350 back home that it was tied off because dad didnt want to mess with changing it. i just wasnt sure if i was remembering correctly or not.
i will keep the bolt inside in mind when i do get around to messing with it.
I had a friend change his in an 84 f-150 and he said it is a pain in the **** to do. but, he is also the same fella that took 2 full days to replace the upper head gaskets on my chebby.
so i figure it is just him.. we'll see in a few months.
