On my '90 F150 Supercab with 300 I-6 (135,000 miles) I occasionally find fine black soot in the mouth of the tail pipe and sometimes flecked out on the driveway straight out from the tail pipe. What's up with that? Is it normal? Truck runs good with decent mpg, doesn't smoke either. Is this a sign of cat or exhaust system failure, too rich or too lean fuel mixture? All opinions welcome

Im not an expert but I think this is basically normal I see alot of cars do it.I think its caused from moisture collecting in the pipes or cat.If your tuck runs great doesnt burn alot of oil gets good mpg I wouldnt wory to much.
