I have a 93 F150 4x4 5.8L with shortie headers and dual exhaust. I also have a 4" lift and 35's with 3:55's . I am looking for performance, money is not a problem. What would be my best option?
I am going to be changing the gears to either 4:10 or 4:56 with this effect anything? Should I change the gears first then get a chip or tuner?
I would say go with the preditor tuner. It has the best bang for the buck. You can recalibrate for different tire sizes, gear ratios, etc. at any time. You do not have to send it back to the company to get this done. It can also read trouble codes and delete them if wanted and it has a live data monitoring function which is real cool. Just my $.02
Tuners won't work with EEC-4 computers, only the newer EEC-5 and CAN/Blackoak computers.
For Superchips that means 1996 and newer (1994 for diesels). Same for SCT. For Diablo that means 1999 and newer.
For your application you're going to need a chip. Since its short tube headers and not long tube, no cam changes, and the speedo cannot be calibrated for that year, go with a 2 stage Diablo Sport chip.
