After taking a new 2006 MY out for a drive, it seems to me that while the powerband and driving "feel" of the 2006 feels the same, it simply feels like the truck has more power from idle to redline than the 2005 predecesors(sp?).
Accordingly, the tuning hasn't seemed to have changed much from 2005 to 2006. I find it interesting that the truck feels more powerful (and also seems to shift slightly better, harder) when basics would say there is no difference. Just wanted others' opinion on the issue...
Nice to see you again Matt...well read you anyway. Hope you have been doing well.
Didn't know the '06 MY was bouncing around yet so I doubt that many could offer an opinion.
But since you asked.
Could it be that it is the "new" that you are feeling. The '06 is probably a little tight and maybe just seems stronger.
Could be your head was spinning so fast thinking of all the mods you could do that you felt dizzy giving you a sensation of speed and power.
Honestly though, I would certainly trust your "seat of pants" analysis more than I would trust most written data.
According to my Dealer there were no build changes to the 06, that I saw at the
Dealer two weeks ago, compared to the build date of my 4/05 F-250psd. They have put the rear wheel splash sheilds back on. But only behind the wheel.
I just got my new truck on friday, an 06 F350 crew cab 4x4 king ranch in dark copper, special ordered it just a few weeks ago in mid-april....lucky #13 off the line

Hey there...well, it seems you are describing my truck...an 05 with a build date of 3/05. Such power and seems to shift like a champ...Hope it continues!
