Funny how it jumped up about 5-10 cents just last week, wonder if there is something coming up where they can gouge the consumers? Sure is a laborious(hint) process digging out the bucks, eh? I guess the old "Supply and Demand" curve is still in charge of the market.
Anyway, here in Oregon, "Land of you're too stupid to pump your own gas", regular is going for between $1.43(Have to look hard) and $1.59("Sure we'll sell ya all you want for that price").
Premium is nudging back up to over $1.80.
I heard on the radio this morning that the reason being given for the gas prices being so high in the Twin Cities area is because of two refinery fires in Illinois. Sounds like B.S. to me.
I also heard amoco had a refinery fire, maybe they should invest some of all that money they are making into the refineries that havent been updated in 50 years
IO had to fillup our Suburban today, 32 gallons and 2 20oz pops came to a total of $59.00, that was too expensive for me to like. My pcik-up takes about 32 gallons but it only cost $50(even if I buy the two 20oz pops). I thjink the diesel is about $1.30?
1.79 for reg/ethonal and prices are supposed to go up again. To top it off our state government decided to raise thier tax on fuel because......get this.....the demand was low for gas and they wern't making enough tax income, but the demand was low because the fricken prices were to high so people cut back, so what do they do, raise the price...dumb asses.
Yesterday when we filled the tank on the Bronco II gas was $1.89 for 87 octane, $1.96 for 89, and $2.04 for 93. Now is the time I wish I had a diesel because the gas has been cheaper for a while. Of couse we are going to have another increase for the Labor day weekend and who knows when the prices will go back down. Too damn expensive for me. Glad we have been car pooling lately. The Bronco II gets the best gas mileage between our five vehicles.
I drive a gas tanker for a living in south central Pennsylvania for Sheetz. Most of the stores I ran the last couple days were in the $1.35-$1.39 range for 87 octane. They did just open a store on route 230, just east of Mount Joy, PA, where they are selling it for $1.19. I like to hang on to my money as much as I can (more money to buy parts for my trucks), so I drive an old VW Rabbit diesel back and forth to work most of the time...I hate it but it averages 48 MPG...
for 87 octane, here in central California right now is $1.65. Last week it was $1.19. Wow, what an increase. I do have to laugh though, my boyfriend is always telling me I should drop a powerstroker in my truck to save money on fuel. But, diesel right now is at $1.70. And that is the cheap stuff.
