This is totally off topic but I just had to gripe to a group I know would feel my pain. I've been dying to get to work on my 54 F100's frame and I was pondering where I would put the fenders, cab, bed etc. This led to the conclusion that I need to build a new shed. I need to keep and move my old shed so I don't end up transplanting my stuff in the new one. My fence is falling down and needs paint in the only place to move it- Soooo...to work on my truck I need to start on my fence! I'm sure this can't just be me, does anyone know a good mantra to chant for patence in a looong restore project? lol
I call it the dominoe theory of regression. I decided to replace the MC with a dual chamber. The dual chamber unit needed an adapter. The pushrod supplied was too short so a new one needed to be made. The single eye clevis that screws into the pushrod was 3/8 inch thread so that needed to be machined down to 5/16.. The MC was for disc/drum so rather than kooty bob the system, put on front discs. Wheel circle changed so needed new front wheels. Front wheels were steel so needed wheel shield to go between wheels and aluminum hubs. Front wheels are now nice shiny chrome and rear wheels are painted, so need to save money for new rear wheels.
That's exactly it! Good name too! you should figure out a way to get a quarter every time someone uses it - around truck restoring you could be a rich man in a week or two! As for what to chant to slow me down - I'm thinking "It's the journey- not the arrival" over and over again until I journey to or arrive at the nut house. P.S. I just realized I posted in the wrong forum for my year - hope you all don't mind - I'm pretty sure this same problem exists in all the forums though...
LOL. I cant believe you wrote "over and over again"! I have been in the barn on the truck all day, with the dumb local radio station on. They have been playing "Over and Over again", over and over again, and it was ringing in my brain when I read your post.
You are right about the universal problem too.
