Picked up a Esab PCM 875 Plasma cutter

Title says it all. Never been used. The only problem is the 460v/3 phase power requirement. I was already planning to get a Miller Bobcat 225 but noticed they have the Bobcat 3 Phase for a few bucks more. Seeing as my disability severance pay will be close to $50,000 I will have a little extra cash for tools. The plasma was slated for a far in the future purchase but for the price I couldn't pass it up.

Now I just have to learn how to use the thing. I see many beer inspired projects in the future.

geeesh! those are some high end, spensive tools! congrats on the new plasma. its not hard to use, if you have ever used a stick welder its about the same thing only your cutting and not welding. be sure to angle the gun forward so as to ush the slag out and move fast enough to cut smoothly but not too fast that you lose your arc. problem i have with plasmas is they can only be used to cut. with oxy-ace torches you can heat, cut, weld, start fires, light cig, etc, lol!

anywho, have fun

Once you get the three phase power wired into the shop you can upgrade to a three phase air compressor to , your 1/2 impact will now have the power that a 3/4" does , well for a short while anyway.

3 phase huh bet that bad boy will cut. How deep will it plunge? My Miller will plunge an inch.Any way all ya need is a phase converter no need to pay for a 3 phase hookup. I had a 3 phase welder out at the farm had a rotary transformer to run it off of. It was way more welder than I needed and not portable. Got a Linclon Diesel now still more welder than I need, but I like them toys.
