Trans Identification
Thanks
Ken
Changing fliud in a manual tranny is pretty much pull the drain plug, drain and refill with the proper fluid in the proper amount. I like to examine the fluid for metalics and any large chunks of debris. It's not uncommon to see some metalics in the fluid, this will give you an idea of the amount of ware in the box.
This is also a good time to address any leaks you have. Leaks are the number one cause of manual transmission failure.

According to that thread "C = close ratio ZF" So that would mean you have a ZF 5spd. with that information, your transmission uses Automatic Transmission Fluid.
When you are under your truck, looking at the transmission, you should see a square access panel on either side of the transmission. directly behind should be a bolt/plug. this is the fluid level check/fill hole. a little further back on the bottom of the transmission is the drain plug. oil capacity should be about 3 quarts.
Hope this helps
