fitting mechanical oil gauge

I have decided to fit a mechanical oil gauge as a check on the stock totaly useless item.has anyone else fitted one to their 1994 F150 with a 302.I have changed the sensor a couple of months ago which brought the needle back up to the high side of the "M" from the "N" .I am totaly paranoid about low oil pressure as allready lost one engine to a failed pump at 145,000km (87,000 miles ?) has anyone else installed a mechanical gauge in tandam to the stock item? is there room etc.?

Cheers

I would just remove the stock sending unit and thread in the aftermarket sending unit, and run the line to the cab and mount the gauge...

Like posted above, just screw it in the hole for the stock sending unit and run the tubing into the cab. I mounted my trio of gauges under the ashtray and they look great there and now if I get off my lazy butt I will hook up the lights to them and get the full effect of the upgrade.

Don't be paranoid about your stock pressure gauge as it is nothing but an ON/OFF switch. If you're above 7 PSI, your gauge will be somewhere in normal or even in high. If you are below 7 PSI, your gauge will not come out of LOW and this means SHUT IT OFF NOW or you will sieze it up like a 2 stroke with a messed up oil injector.
