U. Joint

Guys,

I will be changing my oil this weekend and was wondering if I need to lube the Universal Joint? I don't think this has ever been done before...I have a 02 Ex with 27k on her and 3.73 rear end...If I do, how do you do it...Secondly, I want to lube my front hubs with wd40..Where exactly do you spray the hubs...I'm not to mechanically inclined...So don't use big words..

Thanks for your help....

If they are factory u-joints, you can't lube them. They are "non-greasable", no maintenance, factory sealed. You can double check by looking in the middle of the u-joint to determine if there is a grease fitting.

I had to replace mine at 60k miles (I do alot of towing) and I replaced them with greasable heavy duty u-joints.

You have to be careful when spraying the hubs with wd-40. I have heard it can really screw up the bearings if you're not careful. I havent done that, and don't plan on it. I am going to replace my factory hubs with ones from Warn soon. The Ford factory hubs are junk, lots of people reporting problems with them.
