2002 PSDX and performance upgrades

Ive recently made the jump from Chevy to ford for my truck to tow our camp trailer. The only reason was I wanted a diesel. I Have a need to haul 6 people and a 12k# trailer. This cant be done with a truck but the suburban and excursion It can be. Ive had a chevy Suburban 2500 with a 454 for over a year and was tired of the gas milage. I began to look and the excursion fit the bill. I purchased a 2002 about a month ago and fell in love right away. I got it for $30k w/ 23k miles on it. Im really happy. the other thing is now that Ive got a diesel I am able to see what all this hype is about the tuners and stuff. with my chevy I changed the intake, Exhaust, used a super chips tuner, added a high end ignition system. all the normal goodies to make it faster. I saw a little increase. now with this Diesel Ive added the edge juice w/ attitude monitor, the edge evolution and an AFE stafe II instake system. OH MY GOD Im amazed at how fast this truck is. off the line it is an animal and it keeps going. I have to tell you all I wish I had gone this route years ago. I love it and do not think I will ever go back to gas again (except for the Viper) lol

I've been on many highway trips already running unloaded. It's plenty fast enough on the flats, but looking for a little more going up long grades. Wish I can get my EGTs down so I can go faster and not have to back off the throttle up those hills. Any ideas. Already have the exhaust and tuning. Since I drive unloaded the boost doesn't really get that high to lower the EGTs.

some fuel additive might help some. it will lower the burn point of the fuel. thats what I heard anyways.

Hey REMLLE....I did some research before I bought my Edge Evolution tuner for my 01 X Limited 4x4... and thought I was doing the right thing, but after I drove it for a few days I realized the super-sensitive feather touch pedal feel and the fact that the tranny didn't shift correctly made me wonder what was up??? If I was at a red light next to a cop...I could hardly ease away from the light without seeming llike I was trying to race the cop.......(not good with no muffler like I have)

After talking to a guy that runs a highly recommended Tranny shop for Powerstrokes, I decided to get rid of the Edge and try a Superchips Microtuner tuner....the Edge will not tell the tranny that it has a whole new engine pushing the tranny with a major torque increase....but the SCMT will change the shift points of the tranny, now it shifts normally and the throttle feel is normal...I did not want to spend $3200 to rebuild my tranny after a few months of daily driving with the Edge Evolution. I have 115,000 mile on my powerstroke X.

I then loaded the Edge onto my 1996 F250 PSD 4x4 5 speed and it's doing fine, since it's a manual tranny.

The Edge on the medium setting in the X was very HOT and fast, while the SCMT is not as extreme in the medium setting but has lots of "GO" when I need it and my tranny is safe.

I'm running a Tymar intake and factory straight pipe exhaust, no muff, no cat...a little louder than I like but it breathes like Shaquiele Oneal.

FYI
