Overhead Console Question
I have a 1995 regular cab F150. I was wondering what if any factory ford overhead consoles would work in my truck. I know the Bronco one will, but those are fairly hard to find and even harder get a good deal on. Has anybody made something else work with out too much modification? I was thinking maybe one out of a newer truck or maybe an Explorer. I now the Expedition and Windstar probably wouldn't work, because they are too long and also have HVAC controls in them. I don't want unusable extra buttons and switches. I'm hoping one of them will go in easily. I really don't want to have to modify it. I would like it to look like it belongs there. Any input or ideas are welcome. Thanks

No matter what you choose, you're going to have to modify it, or the vehicle, to make it work since your truck isn't wired for an overhead console. The least amount of work wiring wise, would be to use a Ford unit from a minivan or a car of your choosing, of somewhat similar vintage. That's the short answer since you didn't want to modify anything.

Hey Frederic, Thanks for the input. Sorry it took me so long to post. I like your retrofitted Dodge Caravan console. We had a 94 Caravan ES. Thats how i recognized it. How much work was involved for your project? I'm thinking about usind a newer F150 console (small/short one) with digital compass etc. My friends 2001 F150 has one, and I think it could be made to work with out too much trouble.
