Exclamation New Guy

man im glad i found this place. i have been searching for info on my truck for a couple months, was over there at f150.net? they suck. nobody ever on there whatsoever.
long story short
wanted a badass hot-rod, 4x4 truck.
wound up having to build one myself. which im not done with, but current work already done is:

Install fresh 351 windsor (mild crowercam, cloyes double roller, headers, no smog

install fresh E4OD, done with alto kevlar frictions, kolean steels, 6 pinion planet, tripleclutch converter, transgo,

restored interior, was really nasty, new carpet and everything else got pressure washed and then i ran an extractor on the seats and the headliner.
the body is excellent. no rust and 1 little ding on the tip corner of the fender up front by the parking lamp. factory chrome wheels and 33x9.50 15's look pretty good, were on it when i got it. i got five of them, matching.

the motor was out of 1995 truck
the tranny is the original 1992 tranny , just refreshened
i have an EEC out of the 95 bronco e4od/351
i have the EEC from the truck e4od/302
if i run the 95 computer, the trans acts CRAZY and the motor runs good
if i run the 92 computer, the trans acts normal, but the motor runs like crap, rough idle, stalling, etc.

MY question is:

1. how can i sort this thing out without spending hundreds of dollars, and countless hours of chasing gremlins that may, or may not even be there, and get my baby back on the road. im NOT driving it till i get it right. but im having to drive an intrepid in the meantime. damn. any help will be greatly appreciated

The 302 computer is expecting a 302 to be under the hood, and is the assumption it's been programmed to make. So, that won't drive your bigger, hotter engine correctly.

The 351W computer doesn't like the older transmission, it's expecting the newer version of it, so that's not a match.

What you need to do is find an EEC that matches the 351W, and the 92 transmission, so you'd want a 351W EEC from a 92 which would be one of these depending on a variety of things:

ACDELCO Part # 2189118

ACDELCO Part # 2189121

wow

damn that was quick. and thanks frederic, for the numbers and the advice.
some other queries are

can i eliminate the egr like you can with a 5.0 mustang?
could i have somebody burn an EEC prom for a 95 351 and a 92 e4od?
what do you know about low-and high data rate sensors?
im not sure in the case of the trucks, but i had a 1990 thunderbird SC (supercharged 3.8) and i bought a 95 SC motor complete to install in it. well, after chasing crazy idle signals, dis problems, crazy guage readingsetc, i come to find out about the low/high data rate sensor thing. as i said, im not sure if these engine management systems are one in the same or not, or if the data rate even matters on each and every sensor/sender. anyone who wants to know about a 351 swap into a 302 truck, dont try it. if i had it to do again i wouldve put a carbed 460 and a c-6 in the damn thing
