custom cab door handles

custom cab door handles
i have been looking at custom cab handles for my 66'. i would like to find an original pair. i have been looking for about a year now and no luck. does any one know where i can find them? but if all else fails will buy new. vintage ford has them in stock. (it's nice having vintage ford down the street.)

My Custom Cab and my plain cab trucks have the same plain handles. I have seen some older custum cab trucks with a fancy type of handles with chrome bases with custum cab on them, but I have not seen them, myself on a 66 or a 65.

Not sure if referring to the c/c door hand shield, which is kind of like a face plate that sets between the sheet metal and door handle with 'custom cab' lettering, and has it's own part number. If you go to www.johnsf100.com and open appropriate catalog they have a picture of what i am referring to. Have seen them in salvage yards on rare occasion. Believe only available 64/66 models. If it is the part you are referring to, suggest first try contacting Dennis Carpenter Ford parts supplier ph: 704-786-8139, if looking for quality reproduction. Not sure of quality when purchase from John's f100.

The shields first appeared in the 63 model year and carry a 63 part number. Correct for any custom cab 63 to 66.
If using them you need the corresponding push buttons as they are longer to actuate the latch.
Carpenter is the supplier vaccume casting them form ford 's original molds.
There is a really nice pair on E bay right now located in the great white north of canada.
