85 4x4 4spd hard to shift

My 85 F150, 4.9, 4x4 4spd with granny first gear is progressively getting
harder to get into gear. I have to put the clutch to the floor and it still clunks or sometimes grinds into gear. To get it into reverse i will sometimes shut the truck off. Even with the clutch pedal to the floor it seems the clutch is ever so slightly engaged because the truck will tend to start rolling if the brake pedal is not depressed. I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, & bearing about five years ago ,it helped a little ,but now it getting difficult to drive again. I don't put many miles on the truck and i am definately not hard on clutches. I checked to see if the firewall flexed when the pedal was depressed it doesn't seem to moved at all. Any help or ideas would be greatly apprieciated.

Check the clutch fluid. My clutch master started to leak and i have to add a little. I had the same problem and i installed the fire wall kit. But a couple of months later it did the same thing and it turned out it was low on fluid.

I too have been plagued with the same problems with my clutch as you are experiencing. Here is what I have done so far; replaced clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, had flywheel resurfaced, new master and slave cylinders, reinforced firewall, rebuilt the tranny (bearings were shot), bled probably hundreds of gallons of fluid through it, adjusted the master cyl. push rod. It is better but nowhere near the way it should be. I have talked to a few people about it, a couple of them think the the throwout fork might be bent. I plan on replacing it along with the following other components; clutch lever and bushings, and the slave and master cylinder (leaking again). They are the only parts I haven't touched yet, something has to do it. I guess the earlier hydraulic clutches that used external slave cylinders are notorious for these kinds of problems. It's very frustrating I know, trust me there is a fix you just need to find it. You may have a slave or master cylinder going bad, they aren't cheap...unfortunately. Good luck!

That wouldn't work anyway. I sounds like you may have air in the system that needs to be bled out.
