checking out a new mechanic

Hi there, For the most part my family has owned leased or new cars and all matinence was done by dealers. Now being that my truck is 18 years old, a dealer wouldnt touch it, and I need some front end work done.

Therse a local guy that I met when my brothers taurus stalled out and we had him look at it. my brother ran out of gas, so it was a rather simple diagnosis.. but what I'm looking to have done is more involved.

I need balljoints all around, alignment, front rotors cut, new pads, and a U joint in the 4wd front axle. We dont know any other mechanics around here, and my parents friends dont have any good reccomendations being there cars are dealer maintined also. What type of questions should I ask and what should I look for when I bring my truck down?

Thanks!
Ryan

I would suggest a place that specializes in all sizes of Truck alignments.
*Alignment shop*

Have a look through your phone book for a place that this.

Be prepared to have to replace front springs because if they are weak they can align it.
