1997 4.2L rebuild

1997 4.2L rebuild
Hello
I am new to forums so fogive me for the longhand typing. I have a 1997 F-150 with the 4.2L and lost it to the bad gasket-bent rod problem.
My question is does this problem come back after its been rebuilt.
Another question, I am going to replace all the pistons and the bent rod,
when I pulled it apart the rods where in all different directions. I was always told the bearing tabs faced the camshaft, which would be to the center, does this hold true with this engine.
