Smaug- english bulldogs are so cool. what color is yours. We used to own one for 14 years before he passed away. He was an awesome dog and all his wrinkles made him look so adorable. He was brown and white with a Full brown mask and a white ring around his neck that went up the back of his head into an arrow shape. very beautiful. i miss him, just as much as my boston terrier
He is white, w/ small black/brown spots on his ears and nub. If you look in my gallery there is a pic of him as a pup. They are cool. He is the 1st bulldog I've ever had but I believe I will never get another breed again.
One Turtle - Her name is Tinkerbell. She's about 25 years old. She's an Indian Ornate Box Turtle according to my friend who was no longer able to take care of her. I've had her 10 or 15 years now.
A 12 yr old Black Lab named "Lady." Absolutely the sweetest dog we've ever had- and a runner-up for the smartest. She's also the "lead dog" of our little pack, and literally won't let me out of her sight.
A 5 yr old, 140 lb Afghan Hound named "Bigfoot." Mr. Personality- talkative, expressive, so smart it's scary. Amazingly fast and agile, especially considering his size. Came with all the sight-hound quirks (if it runs, it gets chased- period).
A Golden Retriever pup mis-named "Jojo." (should've been "Turbo" ). Just turned a year old, so it's like having another teenager around the house. Toss-up whether this guy was hard-wired as a bird dog or a service dog. Very entertaining on walks in the field- Bigfoot chases what runs, Jojo only pays attention to what flies.
2 dogs, both 2 years old; Dozer is our first and is a Corgi / German Shepherd mix (so we're told). Outr second one was going to be named Tank but the name doesn't fit him, so we named him Ares. He is an Australian Cattle Dog / German Pointer mix. Also have 2 cats, a 12 year old black cat named Jynx and an 8 year old tabby named Bugg who still acts like he's 2.
One dog:"Cinch" 50-50 red heeler and Kelpie. Unquestionably the most aggressive cowdog I've ever had...which can be good or bad. Big baby when it comes to wanting petted or thunderstorms, though.
Three horses:Short names "Randi", "Star", and "Leroy", all registered Quarter Horses. Randi is the one I ride to get stuff done--11 year old mare I've had for 10 years, built like a tank and good on a cow. Star is a 4 year old cutting prospect, but I'm taking my sweet time getting her broke and on cattle, frighteningly athletic. Leroy is my 3 year old gelding, had about 5 rides so far and can ride with no halter/saddle/etc, he just goes with the flow, also built like a tank and going to be a good ranch horse.
That's more than enough for me, considering the 400 horses and assorted dogs at work too!
here goes...this includes mom's n sister's critters ('ll be outta thehouse as soon as i finish the Fire Academy)
My golden retriever Sherrie, absolute worst retriever ever, but a great dog. show her a bird, if it twitches, she's walkin back to the house on her own accord, if its dead, she looks at me like "what you want me to do with it?"
Annie: west highland white terrie, great dog, going a little senile we think.
Casper: market goat, sister's show goat that didn't make it. i thought he'd have a BBQ, someone had differnt plans. he's now a 170 pound goat that thinks its a dog
parakeet that talks, 13 hens, a rooster Gonzo (none laying or crowing yet), a thoroughbred gelding and a quaterhorse (they aren't mine) sisters calico cat.
Right now I am a little low on pets. I have a 110 lb. lab/rottwieller mix named Louie, he's 3. I also have a ferret named Bamboo, she's a blackfoot. When I move back to Wichita, I will get my pittbull back, he's 1 1/2 and named Bruiser.
I have a thing for naming my animals after engines. I have a Maine Coon cat named Hemi (sorry! I like all the classics) and a Pitbull/Plott Hound mix named Windsor (Windy for short). Whats cool is both animals are the exact same brindle color...they're a matching set! Something I didn't even realize until I brought the dog home last year.
First of all, I dont think that we "own" pets. To me, they are more like our friends or members of our family than they are possessions.
Until recently (April 15 to be exact) I was the proud caretaker of a beautifull 4-year-old black Labrador Retriever named Maggie.
She recently passed away (long story, very tragic) and I miss her a lot. I plan on getting another dog next year but there is NO WAY that any other dog could ever replace the one I lost.
She was my pride and joy. I raised her from a pup and to me she was much more than just an animal. From the moment she and I met, we were never apart for more than 12 hours at a time. She was my buddy. She slept in my bed at night, rode with me in my truck and we used to play fetch in my backyard every day.
Octane

1 Parakeet; Paul Revere. His mate Betsy Ross passed.
5 Zebra Finches, parents and offspring.
1 Koi & 5 goldfish in the pond.
Two cats. One is a Persian and if he were any more relaxed he'd be dead. The other is a Siamese mix and if any more nervous would be walking on the ceiling.
