engine change question

i am putting the engine back in my bronco and it is in place bolted to the tranny but it will not turn over it seems locked up. when it is hanging from a chain it turns, the tranny also spins but when put together they don't move everything went together smoothly. the only tightness was on the two studs on the side of the block when they first started it was tight then they popped on. thanks for any help

Did you make sure that you got the torque converter in all the way? I did this once on my old truck and everything was froze. When you put the converter on you have to shake it and move it up and down to make sure all the teeth get in properly.

i thought it was lined up but that is the only solution that seems possible. the tranny turned until a bolted the two together then it locks. it seemed to be the whole way back i worked all weekend hoping to get it together and was pretty frustrated after taking it back out and putting back in that i cleaned up and went home.(the truck is at a friends) thanks for the response i guess the only option is slide the motor out and check the torque convertor
