Purchasing extended warranty

My 2004 F350 is in the shop. It is still under warranty. I inquired about purchasing the extended warranty today and the dealership wants 3000.00 for the 100,000. mile extended warranty.

Is that a reasonable price. I now have 30,000 miles on the truck.

I will be watching this thread! I too am wondering about this as I cant even imagine performing extensive work on one of these things, and surely cant afford to pay out of pocket for service.

When I purchased my 04' X I got the 100,000 mile extended warranty for $1,800. I know the dealer discounted the warranty for me but I think thay only knocked off $500 or $600.

AND by all means make sure it's a FORD ESP not some aftermarket like I got. It's WORTH the extra money ........ they'll take care of you and the FORD plan includes rental car.
