Friday Night, my 2004 F350, 4x4, emitted a loud noise, like a blow out, and quit pulling my 4 horse trailer. I managed to creep a few miles to meet my husband with his truck but had almost 0 pulling power.
It is in the shop now. Any ideas on what could be wrong with it?
No warning at all. Any ideas?
My 04 quit on me towing a 28' enclosed car hauler last week, but it didn't make any noises. Just shut off, turned out to be the injectors leaking oil. So it lost oil pressure and couldn't fire the injector. Dealership replaced 4 injectors.
edit: missed the part that it still creeped along with no power. I would also guess you just blew a hose off.
Sounds to me like the turbo hose blowing off. Like LOOnatic said. If it is, it is a simple fix and I think they have a new clamp for it that holds it better. A friend of mine had that happen on his 04.
That is right. The tube blew off and blew off again this past weekend. Luckily the dealership where I was at 300 miles from my town was open. What a weekend.
I sure hope Ford can figure this out.
