I need some help locating the flasher unit (little silver cylinder). My hazards on my '84 F250 (351W, 4x4) come on and stay on (missing that all important flashing part).
Based on my manual (Haynes) it would appear that my '84 F250 has two separate flasher units - 1 for turn signals and one for hazards. The flasher for the turn signals is on the fuse block.
I have looked around under the dash but can't locate anything that looks like it's the unit for the hazards. Please give me some suggestions on where to look?
As far as I know it, the flasher in the fuse box,on the face that you see right away,is the hazard flasher. The turn signal flasher is either behind the fuse box, only accessible be swinging it down usually,or taped up in the harness somewhere to the right of the steering column. One person reported finding his behind the glovebox. Always replace both units because they do work as a team in some cases. Also make sure that all bulbs including clearance & marker lamps are good and well grounded in there sockets to prevent the juice from "hunting" for a ground point other then the one it is supposed to use.
