I just fixed some wiring damage to the runningboards (winter wasn't kind) and I need to know where the fuse is for them. Couldn't find it in the manual and I haven't popped for a FSM yet. Sooo-- can someone tell me hwere the fuse for the boards is located
What year truck? I assume you mean the lights on the running boards... On my 2001 it is fuse number 14 which also controls the power windows, among others. If it's not that one, check fuse 6 and fuse 15 (or whatever they map to on your model year) as they have to do with the GEM module. This came into play with mine, but YMMV.
(FYI, fuse 14 was clear in my manual. I'm surprised it wasn't in yours. Again, what model year?)
Ford redid the schematic on Expys in 1999, so not a surprise that the '01 fuses are mapped out differently.
Open the hood. On the drivers side of the engine compartment, near the fender, are two fuse boxes, covered with black plastic lids, right next to one another. They may even still have the factory black duct tape sealing them shut. Open the lid for the smaller, skinnier one (described in the owners guide as a "mini-fuse box". Check out pages 137-138 in the owner's guide). You should see a single row of five fuses. Check out fuse #3.
