It's not really a groove, just a slight depression (no problem to clean), and it is fully polished as is the rest of the wheel. I've got the 265's on my 05 2wd.

265's ??? I thought they were 275/65 x 18 on 2WD and 275/70 x 18's on 4WD. I am glad you do not mind your "depressions" and I do not dislike the grooves, as I see them, enough to not buy them but I really wish the face of the 18" wheels was as smooth as the 17's.

I guess i know what you are talking about when i look at the wheels, its not a perfectly smooth face, but that they look good IMO. I wanted the 18 for the overall look, that larger holes that you mentioned and such.

If the tire selection doesnt suit you, then i would think that should be your biggest concern. i am not worried about it now, and i am sure more will be available when i am ready to purchase.

Sounds like isky has a plan! Me, too! Yes!!! The 18's look good and are 1/2" wider. I plan on selling one of my F150 HD's and getting a 2006 F350 and using the stock 17" tires on the fronts of both of my new SuperDuty trucks and then replacing them with 315/70 x 17's and putting 35 or 37 (36 actually?) on the 18's. With the 4.30 gears and the creeper gear in the 6 speed, I should be all set and geared correctly on the highway, too. Now, if I can just get the tire dealer to give me something for the 18" tires that will come on the 350........

So? I think most people that pay for 4 x 4's they don't need are silly! Did you read the forum rules? We need to respect each other's opinions more here. ALL my vehicles are "raked" amd the guy that owns them, drives them and pays for them LIKES it. The 250 actually came with quite a rake. I just had "Harley" flames added today. They talked me out of shiny chrome and into light grey and into just outlines from the solid flames. It is fairly subtle this way, but frankly, I think they do not make the truck look better. Damn!
