I just bought a cute little 98 Ford Explorer Sport from a place 3 hrs from home...while driving it home I discovered that at about 65 mph it starts shaking pretty badly and looks like the warranty won't cover that! boo hoo!
Anyone up in Gainesville area or west know any good mechanics? I could sure use some competent, reliable and NOT costly help with this! I bought my SUV cuz my last car just died forever on me, I love it already, now I just need contacts to help me keep it (well GET it) into perfect running condition!
I'm so sorry, I should have been more specific...it seems the whole front of the car shakes...I know the steering wheel does badly, and I wish I could pinpoint it more, but my guess would be the tires, since they are hugging the road as it shakes. Or maybe something connecting the tires, making them drive? I am such a motor moron....if this helps, can you help me?
Start with tire. Most tire shops will check out the front end for you at no charge.
Hey, any more post on your Explorer you may won't to move it up to( Explorer, Sport Trac, Mountaineer & Aviator) thread. Some of the guy in there have some good moves for the explorers.
