i have a 93 2wd f150 xl with a e40d i want to put a 91 e40d 5.0l tranny in it but i wanted to make shure that the connections are the same for the computer and if the computer will run it? also the tailstock is longer and i wanted to know if the drive shaft from the 91 will work with out cutting it and one more question there is a sppedo wire on the 91 and my 93 doesnt have that cable will all these things cause more trouble than what its worth??
And the 93 doesn't have a speedo cable, you're right. 92-96 have a sensor on the rear differential, which feeds the RABS system, which in turn feed the computer and the cluster.
And if the wheelbase of the trucks are the same, swapping the driveshaft with the pulled tranny is a good idea. The u-joints are the same so it will bolt in.
But as I said above, the computers and wiring are very different.
You're asking frederic that??? Nothings too much work for him! He's got half his truck apart and it started off he was just going to patch the wheelwells on the bed. Hes one of the best here!! (do i get an A in brown-nosing or what!)
Check out his gallery, I'm sure you'll be impressed!

Not anymore, I took her for a ride today. I only zipped four screws per side in the lower wheel wells, and I used a large strap for the battery tie down - I had no choice, I needed to tow stuff.

A for brown nosing, absolutely.
My gallery is kinda empty... I rarely add pictures there anymore, but instead I have a website:
that's where all my pictures in my threads come from, I link to them to save FTE bandwidth since I have plenty. Plus it's annoying to upload pictures one at a time when one has sooooooo many....
I agree...nothing's too much work if you have the patience. I've completed various projects (car, truck and motorcycle) that were a lot of work, but if you really want it, it'll be worth it in the end!
The project I will be working on here in the next few months is a turbo.
