Hi all, I have a 94 f150. Blinkers work fine, until I attach a trailer. Then they start blinking very fast. I have 2 trailers and it does it with both. there has to be an easy fix, but I'm not much of a wrench. Any help?
The more current that is drawn through a mechanical flasher, the faster it will blink. Totally normal.
If this is annoying to you, replace the mechanical flasher with an electronic flasher, and no matter what you hook up, it will always blink at the same rate.
Go to the local auto parts store and ask for a heavy duty flasher. Open the driver's door and find the fuse panel cover, open, and remove the flasher. It looks similar to what your buying, it'll be obvious. It just pulls out, put the new one in, put the panel on, hook up your trailer, put foot on gas pedal and enjoy blinkers that work right...
How 'bout that for directions,
...looks like frederic beat me by a minute, you jerk! ha jk.
