Here are the mods:
Modifications
Holley Street Avenger 670, Edelbrock Performer 390 Intake, MSD Electronic Ignition, Hedman 89100 headers, B&M Shift Kit, and custom exhaust (2 1/2" into FM40 Delta Flows).
Engine is a 390 (I measured the stroke) that was rebuild 2.5 years back. Tranny is rebuilt 1 year back.
I'm into in around $5K. Anyone have any thoughts on what a reasonable sale price would be?
I'd appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.

I keep coming back to the mustang, I'm afraid. Nice job on the 390, by the way. Did you remove the sway bar from the truck?
Your agent must really smile big when he sees you.
The prime culprit with the insurance premium appetite is still the Mustang, but the '05 Escape probably isn't too far behind.
But that's what happens when you have multi-vehicle needs.
Unless you can find someone with deep pockets that just can't live without your truck (it is possible, just not likely), you're going to have to take an emotional and a monetary beating when you sell your truck.
Get your truck prettied up like it's going on a date, market it best you can. eBay, if you think you can put up with all that involves, will get you a bigger audience. Maybe someone will fall in love with truck at first sight.
Just decide (regardless of how you market it) what amount you have to have, dig your heels in, and take your blows when you sell it.
Make sure the insurance company has the correct people driving the correct cars. Andn get all discounts. (Safe driver, anti theft, duel air bags, ABS, multi car, etc)
If you do not have loans out on the saturns just run liability, unless your states sais you need full coverage for young drivers. Sad to say but those saturns are only worth 2-5 thousand(depending on milage of corse) and was told buy a guy locally he could buy saturns all day long at teh auction for 2 grand.
I'd say run just liability on the 05's if they have no loan but you probably don't want to do that "just in case".
As for the trucks. First off run just liability on them and if you can figure out whick one you will use more and do not insure the other one. If you have a garage(maybe even carport) and keep it in there, house insurance will cover any damage.
I kinda have the same delima you do. I have 3 vehicles and just me on the policy and waht I do is keep liability on the truck year round and in the winter I run just comprehensive on my summer car and in the supper I run copm on my winter car. By doing this I am paying at most $60 for 6 months on either of the cars that are in storage.
If you have a truck you primarily use in the winter just drop insurance untill your ready to drive it. Or run the trucks in 3 or 4 month segmants. Truck 1 in insured Jan, Feb, March, april. Truck 2 insured May, June, July. For exapmle.
Another possibility is to put your kids as primary drivers for the trucks. It could lower the total bill, keep it the same, or raise it. If you have a good insurance agent they should work with you on checking some numbers. The kids can still drive the Saturns. You can also fudge with the miles driven to work(say you drive 10or 15 miles instead of 20, might help a bit). The town you live in also has to do with your insurance rate. City(& suburb) living is more expensive than country living.
One kid is going to get his own policy shortly (he'll be 21 in July). He was suppose to be paying me $100.00 (his share was $150.00) a month, but rairly did. When he has to pay $200.00 to $300.00, he'll be sorry he abused the $100.00 a month gig he had going.
I think I might try and put the 72 F250 on "suspend". I want to keep it for the occasional home imporvement/yard project.
That should shrink the bill somewhat to a more manageable level.
Again, thanks everyone.
