I have a 90 bronco with a 5.8l engine. I have notices a lot of carbon build up inside the upper intake manifold. I want to know if it is worth it to clean the intake manifold or just leave it. The car does run a little sluggish. If I should clean it, how should I do it.
Hi Blue ,
Its a good idea to clean the throttle plates ...keeps them from sticking esp in cold weather . I use some stuff from Ford called Spray Carburator Tune Up Cleaner . Just hold the throttle plates open and spray it down ...you can use this stuff while the engine is running too . Id do that , run some injector cleaner in the tank and see what that does . I like to do all that just before an oil change too , that way all the junk you sprayed off goes away with the old oil .
