I have a '69 F-100 that is completely stock. I used to own an '86 Bronco that had an intermittent wiper switch. It looked and performed like normal, but you could also turn it to the left for the delay mode. My question is if anyone knows if this type of switch would swap-out with an older rig to give me the same result. I have searched this on FTE with no good results so just wondering if anyone has ever tried this? Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. While I would like to have intermittent wipers, I really don't care for the 'aftermarket box mounted under the dash' option. Thanks,
Hi Vern, There are many donors that can be used from cars, trucks, vans. I have pulled them from many sources just to look, and found them to be pretty common.
I don't know what year they were first used, but you have to have a 2 spd. wiper to make the conversion. I first replaced the setup in my 66 with a 2spd from a 76, later I was told that could make it delay by swapping the deley switch. I got one, unplugged the switch from the wiring harness and plugged the delay switch back in the original space.
The deley switch has a transformer looking box that has to be hung and a ground wire that has to be connected, and that is about it.
