i was underneath my 88 F150 302 v8 trying to find the filter, i thought i found it, but a guy work with told me that it was the pump, and i'm not certain where it is.
along the frame (from rear to front) there's a vertical part where 2 fuel lines go in then 1 comes out, then shortly after that (what i thought is the filter) theres a horizontal part with 1 line going in and then out, but looks like there's an electrical line going in as well. neither parts looks like the filter i bought, and i couldn't find one anywhere's else. are 1 of these parts the filter, or is it located some where's else
thanks for any help

Should be a horizontally mounted can with one connection front and rear - will have clips I believe to release the flex fuel lines and is mounted to the frame under the cab approximately, in a spring clip - body is about 3" in diameter. You can hear the High pressure pump run for 2 seconds if you get under the truck and have someone turn the key on.
Dual tank system???? The first is the dual function resivoir. Its main purpose is to hold fuel for the hi-pressure pump while you hit the tank selector switch.
The second horizontal is the high-pressure pump.
If you follow the fuel line from there towards the motor you will come to a part roughly the size of three tuna fish cans stacked. That is the filter.
