My steering wheel is not lined up the way it should be when going straight. To fix this do I need to take the steering wheel off? Can it be fixed at the rag joint?
If the wheel needs to come off, do you need a puller?

I have straightend my steering wheel both ways. Yes you will need a puller to remove the steering wheel but you will have to losen everything on the colum to slide it up high enough to pull it from the rag joint. If it were me I would pull the wheel it can be done with one person the other takes two. I have a puller but I think your local parts house will rent or loan a puller to do the job.
I have also put my legs up under the wheel and while applying force had some one tap the center steering wheel stud with a hammer. I don't reccomend this at all you have to realy trust the guy with the hammer and you chance messing up the threads. So rent the puller it will cost less in the long run.
Good luck

Before you change your steering wheel around you may want to take it to a alinement shop and have it checked. A front end shop can ajust the wheel with the tie rod turn buckel.
Auto zone has free pullers. I actually broke one on a pitman arm and they just gave me another one to try. Deposit required, but you get it all back upon return.
You need to decide how the steering wheel got in that position in the first place. If someone took it off and simply put it back on in the wrong spot than you can correct this by moving the wheel. If on the other hand some front end damage has caused this you need to have an expert check out the front end and correct the situation. Don't take chances with steering, Know the cause, then repair it!
