So i finally put my truck on ebay two days ago...decided i needed something more practical for a daily driver. then while drivin down the highway i pass a convoy of 8 trucks pulling wheelin vehicles up north for the weekend....that just annoyed the heck outta me......guess its gunna be time to start building my tube chassis...
Moral of the story...Don't sell your trucks..mines not even gone yet and i'm gettin crabby about it...
That sucks man... But do you absolutely have to sell it? why not set it aside and get a cheap econo car and only use the truck for the weekends? You can always pull your truck off ebay if you have second thoughts
If you are still willing to sell it, at least post the item number here so that maybe another FTE user may find it useful for their needs....ya know, keep it in the 'family'
ya...i gotta sell it..i want a new truck and i've got a dealer talked down to 330 a month on a pretty well loaded 05 xlt supercab two year lease so this ones gotta go to make room for the new payment. Anyhow, i'd post the auction number but that would look like i'm trying to advertise it on here and that would be against the rules... If you wanna see how its goin, ebay, lifted trucks, and my ebay and fte screen names are the same. pm me if you can't find it.
Ya know what i'd really like to see...someone swap in a late model 5.4 into a early 90's or 70's F150 to see what kinda mileage would come out of it in an old truck....i've seen it done with chevy 5.3's into old chevs..but never a ford 5.4...

hehe, I dont think it'd be against the rules if 'I' posted the auction number..ahem..I mean.. Check out this great looking truck I found on Ebay! #4552846171
And a 5.4 in an older truck? hmm well they leave much to be desired on new trucks that probably weigh less. I guess it would be cool in a 70's F-150 after going on a massive diet. The best thing going for it is that the 5.4 transmission has Overdrive.......But the 70's trucks have the aerodynamics of a brickwall. Who knows, someone somewhere with too much free time will give a try someday

I'm kinda impressed with the 5.4 in my new truck (well, its a 2000, new to me). I think it has like 260hp.. it moves pretty good.
but ryan-it does suck to get rid of your prized truck.. after you did so much work to it.

I've been considering doing a 5.4 swap into an EB!
I like that idea
And Ryan I know it stinks to have to sell that truck but atleast your staying with a ford truck, unlike some that sell thier nice ford truck to buy some ricer
sadly i almost got a chevy.....i went pricing leases and nobody on a ford would come down the the price of the chevy lease...finally i got a dealership to do it so it looks like i get to keep a blue oval in my driveway...
They are running a heck'uva lease deal around here right now. Extended cab, 4x4 F150, nicely equipped 199/month. I actually think it dropped to 179 a month now.
How's the engine work? Does the 302 smoke or anything? I noticed what like 180000 miles? I don't understand why u can't drive it everyday. My sisters fiance drives a truck just like that with 9" of lift and 35's and he drives it everywhere. He gets 17-18 MPG. Its really awesome. I'd buy that off ya. Just depends what your looking to get out of it. What are you asking in the paper?
no..its in great shape...just want something more convienient to drive, gettin in and out for my girlfriend and other friends is a hassle, loading my bike in the back is even more of a hassel...just decided i want somethin new...
yeah, i know what youre feeling. i was upset when i had to sell my truck too. but i didnt have mine for nearly as long as you have had yours and i didnt put as much work into mine. im really sorry man. well good luck with your new lease!

Have you asked Jeff Clark in the New Buyer forum to run some numbers for you? If anyone can get down to the nitty gritty, its him.
