Need More Fuel!

i just got my 5inch exhaust installed and i have a hypertech power programmer III installed and when i step on the pedal it blows some black smoke. i wanna blow lots of black smoke through the rpm range and was wondering what is the best and/or easiest way to crank up the fuel to get what i want?

From your screen name, I take it you've got an 01 truck. You already have a decent fuel system, HPOP system, and turbo, so you need bigger injectors if you want big time smoke. Better programming will get you some more smoke, but injectors are the way to go if you want big smoke.

You know.... lotsa smoke does not necessarily = more power. With that fat exhaust, smoke will be reduced because there is a greater exchange of old air for new inside the engine. More air = less smoke, better fuel combustion due to better air exchange in the combustion chamber.

I don't think there are many differences between his truck and yours. I was referring to the differences between his truck and an early 99, or an OBS truck.

Absolutely true, but he wasn't asking for his truck to be made more efficient, he wanted more smoke.

Yeah, but I had to mention it. I'm a little more leaning toward keeping the air clean. I like lot's of power under the hood just as much as everyone else. I just don't want to foul the air that I breath.

The best/cheapest way to blow lots of black smoke is to get a custom burned flip-chip. Ditch the Hypertech and add some real power.

i was already thinking about getting rid of the hypertech and getting a flip-chip, but just wanted to make sure that that was the way to go. ive been wanting to get rid of it for a while now. what size injectors should i get? i know the stage III's are around $1600 and i will have to beef up the tranny and other stuff (not really looking to do that, just got a brand new tranny 2 weeks ago, had 2nd gear ripped outta the old one). oh and for the record...efficienty is not one of my major concerns, i am aware that more smoke comes from more unburned fuel and that does not mean more power, but less efficienty.

If you want smoke get some 550 injectors these come out of dt550 Navastar truck witch is the same injector that the 7.3l uses but flows a lot more fuel.

Dp-Tuner!!!!!

you want smoke, call Jody Tipton, get a chip and have him put fuel 7 on it. with a SD you should black out intersections no problem.

he also sells the stuff to do your own tuning, all though I have thought heavily about it, I can't bear the price, and I really don't wanna play around with it, his burns are fine enough for me.

Heres his site, direct link to the stuff to tune yourself.
