spare tire space

I want to put a 37" spare in the stock carrier. There is just 37" between the frame rails and the exhaust hanger looks like it will be close. Has anyone tried to hang a 37" tire there? A 35"?

i haven't,however a few months ago tere were posts in here about people who had done this.none with succsess,all had experienced tire fires down under. good luck if you decide to try it.
