I had a brain storm and went to my Lowes hardware store, I bought some black roofing caulk, it is neoprene rubber. I haven't tryed it yet, maybe tommorrow I'll give it a shot and post how it worked.
I know silicon caulk is a bad idea, because you can't get that stuff off after it dries.
What the dealer used was black, rubbery and seemed to have a fair hold onto the surface. My best guess is that it is rubber-based.
PS: Are you former or present military?? I haven't heard the term " NO JOY" since I left the Navy. I was wondering if that is how people talk, or is it just a military thing?

I sealed up my lines with UL listed aluminum duct tape I got from an HVAC shop. An HVAC supplier might have that black playdough-like stuff you can pack around the tubing to keep it from sweating. I may cover the aluminum tape with double-sided adhesive foam sheet or tape to keep it from sweating, but first I want all the gouges in my knuckles to heal!
