wireing problem
Hi, I have put a 1987 351W into a 1992 F-250. My problem is, the plugs on the distibutor are different, the 1992 wiring harness is round but the 1987 distributer plug is flat. Does anyone have a diagram showing how I can wire these two togeather to get my engin to run?

The problem that you are encountering is due to the fact that the your existing wiring harness incorporates a "Closed bowl distributor". This means that the TFI module is remotely mounted (ie. on the fender skirt). The older ('87) distributor has a the TFI module mounted on it's body and plugs directly into the Hall Effect Sensor, which is in the distributor bowl. Since these engines have different wiring harnesses, your easiest fix is to re-install the distributor from the '92 or, if it's gone, buy another one from a wrecker/supplier. If you get into harness splicing when it's not really needed, you're begging for problems down the road.
