Angry Automatic Door Locks

So, I previously had asked a question concerning the auto door locks on my 2001 F-150. They were working intermittently. Anyway, I found out I had purchased the Extended Service Plan and was figuring it would cover the repair(s) on the locks.-as it said it covered "Electrical". I take it in, explain the problem to the service rep and he says, "Should be only the $50 deductible as it is a electrical problem". He calls me about half way through the day and says,
"The locks are Definately not working, but when I put the parts in for the warranty plan, those part numbers come up as "not covered". The part(s) needed are actuators.. Sorry, but to get this fixed it will cost you around $400. Well considering I have paid almost $20,000 for the truck I said, "Go ahead and fix them". My question is...are Extended Service Plans really worth it?
I mean how do we know as consumers that certain repairs come up Not covered? To me, this is just a scam... oh well thanks for letting me vent.

You can compare different ESP plans at http://www.fordvehicles.com/owners/
If you look around a bit there you can also find exactly what parts are covered under each plan.
It looks like power door lock actuators are in the "high-tech" section, not the electrical section and would be covered under the "premium care" plan.
Any extended warranty is a gamble....like insurance. You hope you never need it but you might.

Thanks for the tip. I will check into the site you gave me. I was just a bit frustrated at the time I posted. I have calmed down now.

I know that in my warranty it specifies covering "manually operated electrical switches" so it would have covered the switch in the door if it were bad but not the actuator so I also was sol.
