VIN engine code help needed.

VIN engine code help needed.
I just picked up a 2003 F-250 on Tuesday and the dealer sold it to me as a 7.3L but when I got home and looked in the manual, it had the 6.0L manual. The 8th charachter in my VIN is P which is not listed in the FAQ thread I found here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=139080. I'm assuming P is the code for the 6.0L?

The 2003 model year F250 should have the letter F in the 8th position of the VIN indicating the vehicle has the 7.3L Power Stroke engine.

The answer that question are the members on this site that have the late model 2003 Super Duty with the 6.0L.
The other thing that you can do is read back through all previous posts here on the 6.0L forum.

First off have your local Ford dealer service rep run your VIN on OASIS for any dealer related service / issues. Should be happy to run the report. If not there are those here at FTE that can run it for you.

Check rear engine seal.
Check lower radiator hose, rubs on steering box.
Check oil level, should be half way up checks.
Keep an eye on oil level, if rising check injectors.
Disconect EGR, mine runs much better disconnected.
Your first oil change send in a sample to Blackstone and have it analized, this will tell you alot about your engine.
I love my 03, hope you have good luke with it!

I'm a Mustang guy, have a 1992 coupe with a 5 liter so I don't know much about the diesels, this is my first! When you say the oil level should be half way up checks, do you mean half way between the Add and Full lines on the dipstick? I have yet to pull out the dipstick 
. Also, why would the oil level rise? You say check the injectors, they leak into the oil or something to cause the rise? What does disconnecting the EGR do? Help mileage at all? I'd like to do things to increase my gas mileage.
Last question, is there a site about Blackstone or is that a person here? What's the deal with it? I've seen a few people talk about it here.

Yep, oil level in middle of add & full.
Yes, usually if oil level is rising it means injectors are leaking.
On my 03 dissconecting the EGR just seamed to make it start better and I dont like that dirty exhaust going into my engine.
Just go to the search on this site and punch in Blackstone,you`ll get all the info.
The new radiator hose has a cover over it, but I think it still rubs.
