Black smoke
Hi all.I have a problem no one can figure out.I have a 1990 e150 302 efi.Its dumping fuel black smoke smell gas sounds like the choke is stuck when you put it in gear it loads up.Acording to my mech no cods are comming up.Any clues please HELP

My first thought is a bad o2 sensor, although you could have a stuck EGR valve causing the computer to try to compensate for a lean mixture. I'd pull the plugs to see if one may be black, you may have a stuck fuel injector dumping fuel into a cylinder.

first being efi there is no choke. i would do a tune up, check for codes, check for vacum leaks. if the o2 is part of the cause there should be a code stored. same goes for egr issues. could also have a fpr dumping to much fuel into the cylinders so check the fuel pressure at the rail and pull your oil dipstick and smell for gas . if there is gas in the oil be sure to replace the oil and dont start the motor till its out. otherwise youll burn that motor up
