Guage readings

Finally got the 94 7.3 dually some what finished. Mods:- ats exhaust + 3inch out let housing and down pipe. Shift kit, intake mods (left the standard snorkel in place - drilled a 3 1/2 inch hole in the snorkel and ran a tube to the side of the rad. The guage readings (not towing) at 2400 rpm (70mph) after an hour on I45 :- 650 egt, 190 trans, 170 engine, 4.5 lbs boost. Have not turned up the pump yet, need to find mpgall on both tanks. then will turn up small amount at a time.

Am running 25 lbs at idle, and 50 psi at rpm when warm. Cold idle is 45/50psi

Ok thanks...
Do you think it is more important to monitor oil pressure or coolant temps? Both are already on hte factory dash display... I could be warned when I am about to boil over, or I could know when Im on a sidehill thats too steep and need to shut her off...

Im starting to think that rad temps are more important. Consider the position of the oil feeder/ suction tube...it would have to be one hell of a hill to move the oil away from it.
I have a manual tranny, so I dont need a temp guage for that. I wish I could monitor clutch slippage...

Boost and Pyro are already here... working on installing them...

Sorry If I stole your thread...
But congrats, I know how frustrating it can be, and how rewarding it is when you start it up again...

That's is what the threads are for - steal away. Coolant temperature will effect the viscosity of the oil, therefore the oil pressure. I am monitoring both as the stock guages tell you when you have blown the engine not before (on accel my oil p. went down according to the fac guage!!) For what it is worth I 'T' into the factory sending unit on the turbo oil feed. Used the pipe plug location on the water pump for the coolant temp. For the auto trans people, "T" into the outlet line on the trans, cut about 2 inches out of the line and used compression fittings (5/16). The pyro is mounted on the d/side exhaust manifold.

Rawpower you would have to roll the truck upside down or run out of oil in the crankcase as the pickup is about 3/4 inch above the drain hole.

Your overheat sensor light will come on when the engine is boiling over and will peg the coolant temp guage. To check the light ground out the overheat sensor wire on the drivers front corner sensor........

Oil pressure required is 10 PSI at 750/idle and 40-70 PSI at 3200 rpm....
