Nothing to it. Pull the wheel, unscrew the blinker lever, remove two screws holding the switch assembly in place, disconnect the connector and remove the pins from the lower end of the column and feed wires through and out. I bought the whole assembly including wires from AutoZone for around 42.00. Just keep track of what color wire goes into each contact position. You could also just replace the cam portion of the switch using a cheap part in the Help section of your local auto store, however I have heard of nothing but trouble with these.
If you replace the whole switch you will also get new contacts for the switches on the steering wheel, chances they are also worn out.
