Anyone run into this code before? I'm not sure where to start. Haynes manual states that code 17 is "loss of reference voltage". The light usually doesn't come on until I've been driving for 10 min or so, and its definitly not a fault with the light, the brakes WILL lock up. I've tried disconnecting the battery. I was wondering if this is a common issue? My first guess was a bad relay but I would think if one was bad, the ABS light would come on as soon as I started the vehicle. Any suggestions?
I have a 94 Bronco with a similar problem. I had it to the dealership to be checked. The mechanic said the pump showed a fault plus a problem with the front right side. The brakes work fine, like there is no problem (except the ABS light is on) I didn't want to spend big bucks chasing a problem that isn't there so I am still running with the ABS light on. Isn't this age of technology great. This isn't going to help you, but I sure know how you feel.
Bill.
