Pyrometer Install & Turbo Damage

I installed my pyrometer last night and I think I got all the shavings. If I didn't and some went thru the turbo, would I know it right away or will it eventually go bad? After I installed it, I just let the truck idle for a couple minutes thinking the turbo doesn't tun when ideling. Is this correct in thinking this? The only reason I ask is I here a slightly differnt noise now, and I am hoping I deint mess something up. Whats a turbo cost if I did?????

Well, youa re drilling upside down, so most just fall out. I used grease on the bit and thought that would catch some. Then I used a magnetic welding rod and bent it up into the manifold.

You will be fine. I used a shop vac to give it a suck when I was done.

You should be fine. I always do the grease thing as well, plus I turn on the motor and the debris usually comes flying out of the hole.

It won't hurt anything so long as you let it idle for 15 seconds or so. I have done literally hundreds of them over the years and never greased the bit or used a shop vac and never had a problem at all. Any particles that are there will blow out the exhaust if you let it idle, heck if you revved it up it's technically possible that you might scratch one of the blades but that wouldn't matter anyway. You'll be fine, enjoy the gauges.
