Which Tires?

My sister needs new tires for her Cherokee. I run Pro Comp Mud Terrains on my Bronco and have been pleased. She, however, never goes off-road. I still can't allow her to buy a street tire, though. All-terrain tire with good mileage? BF Goodrich? Pro Comp?

if she never goes offroad then let her get a street tire and dont waste the cash or a perfectly good mud tire

but if you are adamant about it then i would go with maxxis buckshots. i paid like $110 a piece for my 35x12.5R16's and they are wearing very nicely even with all the weight i haul around from towing and haulin

Bridgestone Dueler Revos. Period. I had BFG's on my wife's Cherokee, and they were nice, but the Revos flat kick their rear ends in the wet, mixed weather we get here in the Midwest.

Don't buy her something she doesn't want, or will hate. Mud tires are great for what they are. An off-road tire, they suck on the street. Noisy, less traction, They can be very scary when freezing rain hits the ground.

Good advice on both accounts.

I gave my sister an older Blazer with the 2.8L that wore BFG MTs. She promptly put it in a ditch the second day she drove it while it was raining. I warned her about the tires being treacherous in the rain but you know how women are.

The Revos are consistently rated one of the best performing light duty truck street tires out there.

I had Michelin "SUV" tires on my Bronco and they hydroplaned and did all sorts of horrilbe things. I put a set of Pro Comp MT's on and haven't regretted it since. It handles amazingly in the rain, dirt, mud, etc. Anywho, I wasn't talking about getting her MT's. I simply meant a mild all-terrain. BFG's or Pro Comp AT's (don't the Pro Comps have a 50,000 mile warranty or something?)

Buddy of mine swears by BFG All-terrains.. they suck in mud (compared to a real mudder), but you can expect 40-50K miles out of them.

good AT tires

I am going with Nitto Terra Grapplers, but am seriously considering ProComp AT's, they do have a 50K warranty
I had two sets of ProComp MT's and they were great off-road on my 98 Toyota Tacoma

May I recommend against the Procomps...

friend had 2 sets- X-terrains and currently MT's -and both have sidewall bubbles that look like watermelons or gigantic tire-tumors or something... Ok, I exagerated a lil bit, but they do bubble bad, and fast, too...

procomp tires

I had two great sets of MT's, I am not a fan of the X terrains either
I sold one set of the MT's to a buddy and he is still driving with them on his Tacoma 4x4

Well, my sister bought the buckshots. She isn't really an offroader, but lives back on a dirt road that gets muddy a lot. They sure seem to be worth the money. I am not a fan of BFG since I had a set that I got 2 sidewall flats in. They are overpriced for not being the most superior tire that they claim to be.
